Ngalaangka Country Western Australia | Terra Rosa
Women’s Business was captured on Ngalaangka Country in remote Western Australia.
Terra Rosa Consulting works with traditional aboriginal owners in areas of culture, land education, health, music and arts. They seek to connect community members, organisations and industry to create tangible outcomes that community members are proud of.
To capture this project, I went on country with the women and children of the Yulga Jinna community who used this expedition to tell stories about their history and origin. These learning retreatsare called “women’s business”.
We documented what remains of the knowledge that was passed on to these women by their elders, as they passed it onto the younger generations. If this knowledge is not passed on, there will be very little recording of the history of these people and their country.
Production, direction, filming and photography by Sabine Albers. Video editing by Cooper Gordon.
